An editor reviews and revises text to make it clearer and easier for the reader to understand. This may happen at several levels – for example, a substantive edit might result in "big picture" changes (which paragraph goes where?), whereas a stylistic edit involves fine-tuning each and every sentence. I'm happy to consult with you on what level of editing your work needs, and to collaborate with you until you're satisfied.

My editorial skill set also includes recipe editing and craft editing – specialized work that requires a methodical mindset and careful attention to detail. If you need someone to double check your ingredient lists and clarify your directions, I'm your editor.

My editorial experience includes work for:

  • MaRS Discovery District
  • Canadian Living books division (recipe editing)
  • Canadian Living magazine (food and craft sections)
  • Private clients (academic materials, resumés)
